Today is the first day of our new Boat Dreams blog. And we want all readers to feel welcome and appreciated.

Our goal is to promote the dreams of all who enjoy boating, share those dreams, both past and present, and to see what we all can do as a community of like minded boaters to make those dreams come true for any and all who wish to engage in a seafaring fantasy.

Boaters do not focus on the race creed or color of the hull, we do not lust after another's mast or rigging, we only want our vessels to glide through the sea of life in a relaxed and mostly carefree manner.

Sure there are storms and shoals and the dreaded maintenance headaches, but it is really all of the experience and as we all know you can not have pleasure without a bit of pain. Do not focus on your trepidations as this will surely land you into the hell only reserved for landlubbers and corporate climbers. Look forward to that next sunset, the early morning call of a soaring seagull as you ride the hook in a protected island anchorage, the beauty of seeing your children experience the thrill of a close reach or the fun of riding a water toy behind your powerpropelled speed machine. It is all part of the whole which is boating and it matters not the size or style of your vessel, what matters is that you are where you want to be and where you are closest to water and earth and the ways of the world and you feel one with your maker when you are aboard your vessel.
